The Monadnock Building

Our retail store is located in the heart of Chicago’s Loop, in the historic Monadnock building. This 16 story building consists of two independently built structures – the northern part was built in 1891, the southern two years later. The Monadnock building bridges building styles from the traditional self-bearing brick construction of the northern half of the building — to the more modern style of the metal skeleton steel frame of the southern part. In this sense, our building is an example of traditions extending into modern times — exactly like our hats.

Visits are encouraged

We encourage everyone to visit the store whenever they are in town. In addition to showcasing the latest collections, client’s fits are always checked and updated (hat sizes can change, for example, in the case of weight gain or loss).

Bespoke fittings

We also do bespoke fittings, which require a careful tracing of the client’s head. Bespoke fittings are only available on-site or at trunk shows.
